Happy Home Canvas

It’s almost the end of the year …. only 2 more days to go!! As today is Friday, it’s time for my weekly Vera Lane Studio project – I can’t believe I have been on this DT for a whole year already. Time certainly does fly when you are having fun! I am very happy to be staying with my VLS family for 2018, so keep your eyes peeled for more quirky art from the lovely Janet Klein.

On to today’s project. I made this 5 x 5 canvas as a Christmas present for one of my lovely work colleagues.

I began by painting the canvas with a couple of shades of blue and green acrylic paint. Once dry I stncilled the circles with dark blue, then the stars with white. I used a Posca paint pen in black to outline the stars.

The house is coloured with Polychromos pencils then fussy cut and decoupaged onto the canvas. I cut apart the sentiment and glued onto the canvas then outlined with the paint pen. I gave the whole thing a couple of coats of matt varnish to seal it.

Thanks for stopping by again today – hope to see you again in 2018!!
