To celebrate International Fairy Day, the Smeared and Smudged members are having their very own Scary Fairy Blog Hop. If you are following the blog roll you should have arrived here from Dream In Darkness and your next stop will be Harp. The full roll is below, and if you get lost you can always start over from the top. Please take some time to leave us all a little love, we really enjoy reading your comments.
On to my project….
All fairies, even scary ones, need somewhere to live and how do they get into their homes???……through the scary fairy door of course:
I have used two Stampotique rubber stamps for my project and a little butterfly stamp for the wings.
The base is a canvas board which I covered in DecoArt Crackle Paste to create a bark-like texture. I added colour and detail with DecoArt Media acrylics. I painted some grey board with acrylics and stamped the door twice with Archival Ink so I could layer it up. Once dry I carefully cut them out and glued together. The ‘fairy’ and her wings were stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Promarkers before cutting out. I added a driftwood step and glued everything in place with a hot glue gun.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my project today – have fun hopping!!
I am entering the following challenge:
