Smeared and Smudged Members’ May Blog Hop

Having ran out of time to join in the fun last month, I am excited to once again be taking part in the Smeared and Smudged members’ blog hop.

May Member Blog Hop

You should have arrived here from Nan and your next stop is Leslie Rahye  (the full blog roll is at the end of the post).

They made it easy for us this time with an Anything Goes theme, so I created a journal page.

I began by gluing a vintage advert onto my page then used white gesso to blend around the edges. I used a Dylusions skull mask and Dylusions paint to stencil the bright skulls in the background, avoiding the advert area.

I sprayed Gold stone Artiste mica spray over the page to dull down the whiteness. Then applied coarse texture paste to the areas that I wanted to be ‘corroded’. Once dry I used black, red oxide and patina green Deco Art Media antiquing creams to create the rusty effect.

I used a Deco Art Media Mister for the splats of red, then added some Tim Holtz kraft resist card  Poison labels(inked with Distress Inks), and Creative Expressions stamped Poison bottles (coloured with Promarkers).

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment. Please enjoy the rest of the hop. Your next stop is Leslie Rahye. If you get lost, or arrived by accident, then you can always go back and start from the top.

I am entering the following challenges:

Haunted Design House – May We Have a Quick Word

Dream In Darkness – ATG

Smudgy Antics – ATG
