I have chosen to make a tag with a beautiful image from The East Wind called Broken Doll.

The tag is one of my Dylusions ‘mop ups’. I don’t like to waste the overspray on my non-stick mat when I’ve been doing my journal pages, so I always keep a stack of tags handy for mopping up the ink. Sometimes they look a bit muddy, sometimes they look really colourful – they are all useful additions to my stash, just waiting for some extra embellishment.

I used a black fineliner to draw through a criss-cross patterned stencil, then filled in with a black marker (to create the negative of the stencil). I then added the words with an alphabet stencil and a white gel pen.

I coloured the Broken Doll image with Promarkers then fussy cut. I used some Scattered Straw Distress Stickles on her hair for extra interest. I attached it to the tag with Pinflair gel glue to add dimension. A few fibres through the hole at the top added the finishing touch.

Please take the time to look at all the amazing projects that the others have made, there is always plenty of inspiration to be had.

  1. Fabulous Tag, I love that image. I do the same with over spray, I normally mop it all up with either a paper towel which I use on projects or direct to my journal.

  2. This tag staggered me when you said it was used for mopping up!! And the lines and image….awesome! Love the sentiment and the fibers at the top are the perfect finishing touch! I will now use the mop up method!! Lovely!

  3. I hate to waste anything too Teresa. I love this tag… the image is cute without being sweet…. love how you coloured her.
Beautiful tag, so pleased you joined in with this hop. BDx
