I really thought that I was done with making Christmas cards this year but I hadn’t tried these busy little elves from Stampendous yet, and when I saw that Handmade Harbour’s Challenge this week was all about ‘Winter Fun’ and Lexi’s Creations theme was Christmas, I just had to have a go.
(By the way, have you noticed my Winner’s badge? A big thanks to Wendy and the team at Handmade Harbour for picking my card in the last challenge x)
I stamped the elves with black Memento ink and coloured them with Spectrum Noir pens. (I made a list of the colours I used, but as I cannot find it I’m assuming it went in the bin when I tidied up!!) Once I’d cut them out I used a touch of Pumice Stone Distress Ink around the edges to make them stand out a bit.
I love this little chap with a couple of nails in his mouth:
…and his friend trying not to spill his pile of parcels:
I used a snowflake print card for the backing, then layered some red glossy linen effect card on top. On that, I used some handmade paper with gold embossed stars on it.
The greeting is a stamp from Kaisercraft, and is stamped with red Brilliance ink (and is a quote from Dr. Seuss’ story ‘The Grinch’). I felt that the card needed a bit more colour so die cut some holly leaves and gold flourishes, and tucked them behind the wording.
