Pimp It Up (Again!) – Upcycled Tin

Today I am sharing my second Pimp It Up project for Country View Challenges. This time I rescued a tin from the recycle box and turned it into some crafty storage for my desk.

I brayered some acrylic paints onto some paper and added background texture with bubble wrap and a contrasting colour. Once dry I cut a strip to fit around my tin and stamped the fantastic scissors and paintbrushes from AALL and Create using black archival ink. I added some black Distress ink to the top and bottom edges using a foam tool.

I used double sided tape to attach the strip round my tin.

Next I took some wooden ‘Scrabble’ tiles, a Tim Holtz metal tag and some twine….

I coloured the wooden tiles with Distress Oxide ink and added a couple pf coats of clear embossing powder to glaze them.

I attached the metal tag with the twine and glued the letters to the front of the tin:
