Today’s project is an Artist Trading Block created for our ‘Anything But Cute‘ themed challenge over at Country View Challenges.

I began by painting the block with black gesso, then set aside to dry. Meanwhile I used Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks on some cardstock, then using Black Distress Oxide I inked through my Visible Image Checkerboard stencil.

My chess pieces are greyboard shapes painted with acrylic paint and DecoArt Weathered Wood crackle medium. I added some highlights to the knight with a gel pen.

The sentiment is a PaperArtsy stamp. I added more doodling around the sentiment and on the sides of my block.
