Painted Leather Journals

I couldn’t wait to try these Patent Leather paints from DecoArt. I thought that they would be perfect for adding individuality to my little handmade journals. I decided to use them with my DecoArt Personally Yours stencils to add a funky tattoo style design to the covers.

These paints give a surprisingly good coverage and dry to a glossy sheen. I used foam daubers to carefully apply through the stencils,

The stencils themselves are excellent value as each pack contains two sheets. I can see these being a really useful addition to my stencil collection.

I love the metallic gold paint – it has a wonderful lustre to it.

I think I’m going to hunt for a leather handbag to upcycle…you will find me rummaging in the charity shops!!!
