Today, I am sharing a new technique and some older stamps. I have wanted to try Yupo paper for a while and have been looking at alternatives to using alcohol inks (as I don’t have any!). I’ve seen some beautiful artwork using acrylics so thought I would try my DecoArt Media Shimmer Misters, which are acrylic paint based on this man-made ‘paper’.
I sprayed some of the Turquoise and Violet Shimmer Misters onto the Yupo and then tilted the sheet to allow the paint to run. I took a gold and a white Posca Paint pen and shook them over the surface to create some spots of paint, adding to the texture and helping to create a marbled effect.
Meanwhile I stamped the horse from the Revolution set onto heat resistant acetate and embossed with WOW Superfine Rich Gold embossing powder. I carefully cut around the horse and set aside ready to mount on my card.
The sentiment was stamped and embossed onto white card, then matted onto gold.
When the background was dry (this does take a while as the Yupo is not porous), I matted onto gold card and added the horse and sentiment with Pinflair Glue Gel for dimension.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are inspired to try out something new this week too!
