I have several hydrangeas in my garden which flower all summer in shades of pink, white and green…. I would love one to bear blue blooms but I don’t have the right type of soil so I must make do with what I have!!
I have coloured this pretty little Aurora Wings sprite image in sepia and blue tones – I love how the colours slowly fade from hydrangeas as the season passes, until all that remains are skeleton petals. The colours that I have used remind me of this…
I coloured the image with Copics and Promarkers, adding some extra shading with Polychromos pencils. The Graphic 45 Botanic Tea Party papers were perfect companions.
I would like to enter the following challenges:
Aurora Wings Challenge – Vintage
Crafty Gals Corner – Polka Dots or Stripes
Shopping our Stash – April Showers bring May Flowers
Cards in Envy – Just us Girls
Come and Get It – For a Woman
Pile it On – Garden Creatures
Quirky Crafts – April Showers. May Flowers
Beautiful coloring! Love the image and your fabulous presentation does it great justice! Thanks for embracing our challenge this week at Shopping Our Stash!

Oh, just beautiful, Teresa! I too love the fading hues of a late season hydrangea and they’re so perfect for our “Vintage” challenge at Aurora Wings. Lovely coloring and design. Thanks so much for joining us. xxD
I LOVE this magical and charming card from you, Teresa! Hydrangea flowers are so beautiful throughout the year as you mentioned. Your unique coloring on the Hydrangea Sprite, and the lovely design with irresistible details like floral stamps, all add to a delightfully beautiful, vintage creation. Thank you for joining our ‘Vintage’ challenge at Aurora Wings. Mitzi xx
Just gorgeous, Teresa! I love how you chose to color the Sprite.
I always let my hydrangeas fade into skeletal petals before I clip them from the plant. I’ve tried to save them but they kind of just turn to dust. Still beautiful, though.
Absolutely stunning. Your colouring is just fantastic and the leaves on the sprite are gorgeous with lovely colours that set it off so well. Have a good weekend hun.
