Today I am sharing an altered box I have made.
I covered the box with black gesso then used DecoArt Media Black Texture Paste and my favourite Andy Skinner mask to add the sugar skull detail to the lid. Once dry I glued flat back gems around the edges of the lid and covered them with black gesso. The little brass feet are screwed to the base, then I stamped and embossed some cool script around the sides using my Visible Image Revolution stamp. I finished by rubbing gold gilding wax on the sugar skull and gems to highlight the design.
I am entering the following challenges:
Haunted Design House – The Nights are Drawing In
Forever Dark 2 – #4 ATG
Dream In Darkness – ATG
Altered Eclectics – ATG
Left of Center – No Designer Papers/LOC
I am loving this little box, Teresa! So clever and well done. I must get that Skinner stencil. Looks like a great tool to add to the supplies arsenal.
