I wanted to create a piece that reflected the colours and designs of India, so I took a 5 x 7 canvas board and painted it with black gesso. The Bohemian Bazaar paper from Graphic45 was perfect, so I used a CartUS die to cut the ‘banner’, then glued it in place on the canvas.
I added some tassled and pompom trims across the top to continue the theme and add texture.
The elephant is coloured with Promarkers then mounted on 3d foam. I took a Tim Holtz sentiment stamp and inked it up with complementary colours of Distress Inks for a rainbow effect, then matted onto black card so that it stood out from the busy DP.
I am really thrilled with how this turned out, even though the image is one that I probably wouldn’t have considered – that is the fun of the Progressive challenge…..you never know what you are going to get! I love that I was able to think outside the box and create something different!
