Left of Center Creative Challenges – Upcycle!

This week at LOC we are sponsored by the wonderful Meljen’s Designs who are offering some lovely digis as the prize.

I chose the quirky Victorian Goth Girl image for my project which is available here. The theme for the challenge is ‘Upcycle’ and I took an empty sardine can and turned it into a cute little gothic shrine.

Starting with a thoroughly washed sardine can:

I transformed it into this:

The inside and outer edge are covered with some HOTP papers. I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out, then mounted it inside on 3d foam. Using some high tack narrow tape I added a lace trim around the inside edge.

I threaded the skull beads onto medium gauge wire and used epoxy glue to hold them in place around the outside. I finished the ends with a spiral and small bead. A ready made bow added a finishing touch.

I am entering the following challenges:

Clear It Out – Anything Goes

Moo Mania – Recycle

Altered Eclectics – Anything Goes
