Today is my daughter’s birthday, and although she is no longer a little girl, she loves quirky and handmade items so I made her a ragdoll. I used a pattern from a lovely book called ‘We Make Dolls’. The doll is supposed to be Little Red Riding Hood, but as I chose to make her in shades of blue, she shall be called Little Blue.
I used some pretty cotton print fabrics for her hood, dress and legs, and unbleached cotton for her arms. Her shoes are made from a denim off-cut. Her appliquéd face and hair are felt, with button eyes and embroidered mouth and nose. She has a little sequin and bead flower in her hair, and a velvet ribbon choker with a flower shaped button around her neck.
She is really sweet and I think I may just have to make another one at some point…..
