Excuse the puns, but this Kokka Echino Glasses fabric from The Makery is quite ‘eye catching’. I picked it up while we were in Bath and (for once!) knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I have to say that this is the most complex thing that I have sewn for a while, with it’s lightly quilted front, and piped edging, but I’m glad I decided to go with all the elements.
The fabric has a contrasting chevron border print which I quilted using a lightweight wadding. I added a fun pom pom trim.
The reverse of the cushion cover is made from a grey and white polka dot fabric. I didn’t want to add a zip, so I used a pillowcase type flap in a fuchsia pink.
The depth of the flap matches up with the depth of the border print on the front. The smart black piping cord just adds a professional touch to the finished project.
